Will My FFL / SOT Call When My Approved Tax Stamp is Received?

The simple answer is yes.  We can’t speak for every FFL / SOT, but the general process is to contact the applicant when the approved tax stamp is received from the ATF.  This means that it is important to give your FFL / SOT your accurate contact information.  If your contact information changes you can update your FFL / SOT with your new contact information.  You can also check the status of your tax stamp application by contacting the ATF.  Before you call you will need to have the serial number(s) of the NFA regulated items that you want to check the status of.  If you don't have this you won't be able to check the status.  So, have that handy before you call.  The ATF’s contact information is below.  Note: When your tax stamp is approved, your FFL / SOT may not receive your approved tax stamp for 1 to 4 weeks, depending on when the ATF mails out your approved tax stamp.
